Joshua Giorio, LPC (He/Him)
Being a therapist is an interesting career because it is my task to work myself out of a job. My goal is to help clients get to the point where they do not need therapy. I work to create a nonjudgmental, safe, supportive space for clients to explore their concerns and develop ways to achieve their desired goals. To do so, I focus on building skills suited to each person’s unique learning style and use an eclectic form of treatment. I have worked with all age ranges. Currently, I have a primary focus working with clients ages 10 and up. I have clinical experience working with issues related to ADHD, ODD, depression, and anxiety just to name a few.
For those that would like to know, I earned my B.S. in Psychology in 2005 and M.A. in Professional Counseling in 2008 from Central Michigan University. Through my residential and home-based work, I have experience working with children and families from many backgrounds. My notable trainings have been in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT).
In addition to the providing therapy treatment to my clients, I am also a clinical supervisor for some of the Limited Licensed Professional Counselor therapists at Blooming Minds Therapy.
