Autumn Schneider, LLMSW (She/Her)

Humans are wired for connection and attunement. Reaching out to another for help is what we are meant to do. As your clinician, I will provide a safe environment for you to be your authentic self and will work to earn your trust. I have dedicated my career to finding, learning, and sharing what causes and heals trauma, and we will work together at your speed to process and heal your unique experiences.

Dr. Peter Levine explains trauma as, “not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” I believe that part of my role as a therapist is to be that witness, allowing my clients to feel seen, heard, and validated. I also recognize that, as noted by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, the events we store inside us affect our mind and body. The exciting news is that our brains and bodies can change. Using an integrative trauma-informed approach, I work collaboratively with clients to bring about healing at a deeper level than talk therapy alone can reach. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, the Safe and Sound Protocol, Transforming the Experience-Based Brain (TEB), and Pain Reprocessing Therapy. I also utilize aspects of Parts Work, Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory to improve client well-being.

I am committed to serving and learning from all aspects of human similarities and differences including but not limited to race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, spirituality, gender identity, sexual orientation, different ability, age, and economic status. If I am the right fit for you, I will be honored to join you on your healing journey.
